About the Role
In this role you will conduct proof inspections of blades, fixtures, and associated equipment, ensuring compliance with blade, tooling, manufacture, and finish drawings. Key accountabilities include programming a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) using MCOSOMOS Mitutoyo software for calibration and FAIR programmes, programming a 3D structured‑light system (GOM ScanBox) and analysing data with Polyworks IMInspect, collaborating with Operations and Engineering to prioritize work and troubleshoot CMM/GOM assets, and performing first‑article inspections (FAI) on new blades using free‑table setups while maintaining compliance with blade inspection standards and Quality Assurance Standard audits. • Program CMM using MCOSOMOS Mitutoyo software for calibration and FAIR programmes. • Program 3D structured‑light system (GOM ScanBox) and analyze data with Polyworks IMInspect. • Collaborate with Operations and Engineering to prioritize work and troubleshoot CMM/GOM assets. • Perform first‑article inspection (FAI) on new blades using free‑table setups. • Ensure compliance with blade inspection standards, conduct QAS audits, and maintain master blade records. • Utilize inspection tools (sine tables, ball pins, slip gauges, micrometers, etc.) and execute trigonometric calculations. • Interpret casting, machining, and tooling drawings with geometric tolerancing (ASME & ISO). • Conduct first‑principles measurements using height gauges, sine bars, and slip gauges. • Work in a safety‑first environment that supports continuous learning and career development.

The role requires experience operating and programming CMM machines, proficiency in Polyworks or other CAD software, a solid understanding of casting, machining, and tooling drawings with geometric and dimensional tolerancing (ASME & ISO), competence in trigonometric calculations and first‑principles measurement using sine tables and gauges, and an NVQ Level 3 time‑served qualification.
