About the Role

The Production Tester 2 is responsible for testing gas and diesel generator sets to verify proper function and to troubleshoot any issues that arise during testing. The technician also communicates results and provides input to test engineers and supervisors. Key duties include performing final acceptance tests on new and overhauled generators, following established testing procedures such as engine runs, alarm verification, load application, and special job‑specific tests. The technician calculates performance metrics (voltage, frequency dip/spike) using standard formulas, computers or calculators, and operates computerized test equipment to enter, retrieve and compute data. Safety, environmental compliance and continuous‑improvement contributions are an integral part of the role, and the employee may be assigned special projects. • Perform final acceptance tests on new and overhauled generator sets. • Execute testing procedures: engine runs, alarm checks, load application, and special tests. • Calculate generator performance metrics using formulas, computers or calculators. • Operate computerized test equipment to record and analyze test data. • Communicate test results and improvement recommendations to engineers and supervisors. • Adhere to safety and environmental procedures throughout testing activities. • Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives and compliance culture.
