About the Role

The engineer will serve as the site technical expert, mentor apprentices, design and optimize control systems, maintain PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks, and follow strict documentation and change‑management procedures. Collaboration with operations, engineering and support teams is required to optimize material handling equipment, monitor metrics, resolve performance issues, conduct root‑cause analysis and drive continuous‑improvement projects. Communication of technical issues, timelines and workarounds to leadership and stakeholders is also essential. • Design, develop, and implement automation control systems for industrial and warehouse processes. • Optimize and maintain PLC/PC controllers, industrial networks, and SCADA devices. • Lead and mentor apprentices, ensuring safety and technical standards. • Conduct root‑cause analysis and drive continuous‑improvement projects to achieve cost savings. • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and support teams to optimize material handling equipment. • Document changes and follow Automation Change Management procedures.

What You Bring

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to design, develop, and implement automation control systems for industrial processes and warehouse distribution equipment. The position focuses on improving reliability and performance of conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, print‑and‑apply systems and SCADA devices while adhering to safety policies and procedures. A 4‑year degree or equivalent knowledge is required, along with proven ability to lead, train and mentor junior engineers. Candidates must be proficient in CMMS use, troubleshooting, stakeholder coordination, and possess advanced verbal and written English skills. A strong problem‑solving mindset, adaptability, commitment to continuous improvement, and flexibility to work varied shifts including nights, weekends and holidays are essential. Preferred experience includes 2+ years of PLC programming, HMI/control network design, SCADA systems and KPI development, as well as hands‑on work with motor controls, industrial electrical systems and software such as RSLogix5000 Studio and FT View. Ability to interpret and modify mechanical and electrical drawings, field service engineering, technical training on conveyors, sortation, ASRS and robotics, and a record of remote technical support and automation improvements are advantageous. The position is on‑site in La Marque, TX and does not provide visa sponsorship; candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
