About the Role
The Grill Cook performs culinary duties while maintaining a clean, organized, and professional work environment at all times. The role ensures guests receive the highest standards of food quality, taste, and presentation. The Cook also helps train new staff to meet HGVC standards, orders food stock as needed, prepares backup stock, and follows menu specifications. Commitment to the service culture is expected toward guests and team members. • Track meal preparation components to ensure timely completion of final dishes • Chop and prepare vegetables and other non‑meat ingredients; check perishable items for freshness • Prepare, season, and cook starches, vegetables, and side hot foods; measure and mix ingredients per recipe • Prepare backup foods according to specs, stock them, and keep kitchen areas clean • Ensure food areas are cleaned and stored properly at shift end per health specifications • Ticket and date food items with employee name to ensure freshness; account for stocked items received • Record temperatures of refrigeration units and sanitizer levels; report food loss due to spoilage or over‑production • Oversee grill and pantry areas, preparing quality food items to specifications • Assist with stewarding duties: wash pots, pans, utensils, serving dishes, and kitchen equipment • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen working environment • Sanitize work areas, refrigerators, and utensils; manage trash and recycling removal • Assist with monthly inventory
