About the Role

Xcel Energy is seeking a senior leader to direct large‑scale utility relocation projects that involve electric transmission, distribution, and high‑pressure gas assets. The role provides strategic oversight for initiatives lasting up to five years, coordinating with municipalities, regulators, customers, media and legal teams. The incumbent will manage budgets, design resources, right‑of‑way agreements, property transactions, construction, and project close‑out, ensuring compliance and timely invoicing. Key duties include overseeing the engineering design of gas and electric relocations, validating utility conflicts, and negotiating work requests with the Colorado Department of Transportation and contractors. The manager establishes a single point of contact for all internal and external stakeholders, balances easement rights, and directs field relocations to minimize downtime. They also resolve customer complaints promptly and ensure accurate invoice reimbursement. • Lead design and engineering of utility relocations for gas, electric, and high‑pressure gas assets. • Validate and resolve utility conflicts with CDOT and other contractors. • Negotiate and execute utility relocation agreements and work requests. • Coordinate construction resources, ROW, licenses, and easements to meet project schedules. • Serve as the single point of contact for internal departments, municipalities, and project contractors. • Oversee field relocations to minimize downtime and ensure on‑site compliance. • Manage project budgets, invoicing, and timely reimbursement. • Address and resolve customer complaints promptly.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or a related field and have at least eight years of combined gas/electric utility experience. Strong leadership, multitasking, and stakeholder engagement skills are required, along with familiarity with engineering and construction regulations. Preferred qualifications include a Professional Engineer license, formal project‑management experience, and prior supervisory responsibilities. • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or related discipline. • Minimum eight years of gas/electric utility engineering experience. • Strong leadership, multitasking, and stakeholder‑management abilities. • Knowledge of engineering and construction regulatory requirements. • Preferred: Professional Engineer license, formal project‑management training, supervisory experience.

The position offers a base salary ranging from $129,000 to $183,200 annually and eligibility for an annual incentive program.
