About the Role
In this position you will lead project execution, develop and maintain client and consultant relationships, and provide technical expertise across all design phases, from preliminary concepts to final contract documentation. • Utilize client relationships to meet business development goals • Develop working relationships with clients and consultant partners • Build a local team to support client needs • Lead tasks and design teams in project execution • Provide technical expertise in preliminary and final design, contract documentation, cost estimates, and specifications • Propose solutions to technical issues during design • Make responsible, ethical decisions regarding company funds, resources, and conduct; adhere to WSP Code of Conduct • Collaborate with key staff across disciplines such as drainage and structures

What You Bring
The ideal candidate holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering (or related field) with over ten years of transportation engineering experience, strong communication skills, and a professional engineering license in Illinois (Missouri preferred). Additional qualifications include proficiency with OpenRoads Designer, Microsoft Office, and the ability to follow WSP’s quality control procedures. WSP is an Equal Opportunity Employer; candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and may be required to travel occasionally based on project needs. • Hold a B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field • Have 10+ years of transportation engineering experience • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills • Possess a Professional Engineer license in Illinois (Missouri desired) • Hands‑on experience with OpenRoads Designer • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel • Ability to implement WSP's Quality Control Procedures • Preferred: Master’s degree in engineering • Preferred: Experience managing small to mid‑size projects • Preferred: Leadership experience with IDOT and other local agencies • Preferred: Business development experience • Preferred: Experience leading and mentoring a team • Able to work in the United States immediately
