About the Role

The BMS Controls Engineer is responsible for managing and executing engineering design reviews of HVAC building automation systems across the client portfolio, including network topology, controls strategy, and adherence to standards and best practices. This role works with a team of engineers, technicians, and contractors to ensure implementation of best practices and continuous improvement across installation infrastructure, supporting projects from component upgrades to new construction. • Conduct design reviews for HVAC controls projects to ensure compliance with standards and stakeholder expectations. • Perform technical reviews of control sequences, program logic, and functional performance test plans. • Inspect field installations to verify scope compliance and proactively identify risks. • Coordinate with project teams and represent the client to resolve design and implementation issues. • Collaborate with clients, consultants, and contractors to meet project requirements. • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and on‑budget delivery. • Provide regular progress updates and reports to stakeholders. • Support the mechanical engineering team with controls guidance and drive continuous improvement. • Oversee BMS/BOS hardware and software installation and configuration. • Develop and execute comprehensive commissioning plans; troubleshoot and resolve system issues. • Perform “clip‑in” of controls programs onto operational servers and validate performance. • Monitor system performance, analyze trends, and identify optimization opportunities.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or facilities engineering (or associate’s with relevant experience). • 7+ years of experience in facilities HVAC and control systems. • Expertise with HVAC building automation, control theory, and protocols such as BACnet and Modbus. • Experience with major BMS platforms (e.g., Tridium, Johnson Controls, Siemens). • Strong project management, problem‑solving, and communication skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Professional engineering or PMP certification preferred. • Prior experience with Automated Logic Controls (ALC) preferred.

This role does not provide visa sponsorship and requires candidates to be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
