About the Role

• Perform new construction, maintenance, and repair of energized and de‑energized overhead lines safely. • Lead crew members in the foreman's absence. • String overhead wire and set poles and anchors. • Install transformers, lightning arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear. • Troubleshoot primary and secondary electrical systems. • Replace cutout fuses and clear faulted circuits. • Work with high‑voltage energized systems, protecting self and others. • Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools. • Identify primary and secondary voltage on circuits. • Climb wood, steel, and other structures with appropriate tools. • Phase out lines using phasing sticks. • Plan safe work based on job prints or work orders. • Conduct pre‑job or tailgate briefings. • Perform reconductoring jobs safely. • Install and remove mechanical jumpers. • Use load‑bust tools as required. • Complete all related tasks needed to finish the job. • Travel long distances on short notice and work extended periods at various locations. • Lift more than 50 lb and inspect rubber goods and PPE regularly. • Follow all company safety rules and policies.

What You Bring

The Class A Lineman is a skilled role responsible for the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical overhead distribution systems. The position works at various locations and may require travel to other states based on customer demands. The job demands rigorous physical labor, including frequent standing, walking, climbing, and lifting over 50 pounds. Work is often performed outdoors in inclement weather, noisy environments, and hazardous job sites with exposure to fumes, moving equipment, and high‑voltage energized systems. • Apply knowledge of induced voltage and grounding procedures. • Work at heights and in confined spaces using proper PPE. • Obtain a one‑shot on reclosers. • Work outdoors, frequently in inclement weather. • Minimum five years recent field experience as a lineman. • Read and communicate effectively in English. • Obtain a Commercial Driver’s License permit within 60 days of hire (CDL preferred). • Demonstrate self‑motivation, teamwork, and customer focus.
