About the Role

The role holds overall responsibility for the codes and certifications functional area supporting Killark brands in industrial and commercial markets. This includes managing product standards, certifications, and installation codes that affect compliance, marketability, and strategic positioning of both current and new product offerings. The position works closely with external organizations and internal departments such as Marketing and Sales. Daily activities involve organizing and administering approvals, certifications, and site documentation while coordinating with notified and conformity assessment bodies. The incumbent partners with New Product Development Engineers to secure third‑party product safety certifications and monitors activities of standards organizations including NEMA, UL, CSA, NFPA, IECEx, and ATEX. They also prepare and submit required documentation to agencies to obtain and maintain hazardous‑location equipment certifications. Additional duties include providing certification input to cross‑functional development teams, supporting new sales opportunities through standards and code development, and representing Hubbell’s interests in external standards and certification groups. The role also plans and schedules certification testing, guides engineering and technical service staff on third‑party matters, reviews product instructions, and supports other Hubbell business units as needed. • Organize and administer approvals, certifications, and site documentation, coordinating with notified bodies. • Collaborate with New Product Development Engineers on third‑party safety certifications. • Track activities of standards organizations such as NEMA, UL, CSA, NFPA, IECEx, and ATEX. • Maintain expertise in applicable safety standards to support project portfolios. • Prepare and submit documentation to agencies (CSA, UL, etc.) for hazardous‑location equipment certification. • Advise cross‑functional development teams on product certification requirements. • Support new sales opportunities through standards and code development. • Represent Hubbell in external standards, codes, and certification groups. • Plan and schedule certification testing. • Guide engineering and technical service staff on third‑party certification matters. • Review instructions and publications for new or modified products. • Provide support to other Hubbell business units as needed. • Help establish multiple listings and resolve variation notices and industry file reviews. • Liaise with certification auditors during factory surveillance visits.

What You Bring

Candidates should have at least five years of design engineering experience focused on codes and standards such as UL, CSA, IEC, and NFPA, along with excellent organizational and communication skills. A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field is required. • Knowledge of UL 60079, UL 1203, CSA 30, and NFPA 70 is a plus.
