About the Role
As a Mechanical/Electrical Engineer on the AFG team, you will work on advanced construction projects, gaining hands‑on experience while contributing to safety, quality, budgeting, design review, and commissioning activities. • Participate in and mentor others on company safety and quality plans. • Perform entry‑level mechanical, electrical, and field construction tasks. • Develop budgetary M/E estimates using automated estimating software. • Review mechanical and electrical options during preconstruction and conduct systems analysis. • Create mechanical and electrical scopes of work for the bid process. • Assist with bid analysis and provide input for subcontractor selection. • Develop sequencing requirements for systems and propose schedule solutions. • Identify potential quality issues in design documents and prepare constructability review reports. • Conduct job inspections to ensure specifications, quality, and timeliness. • Assist with shop drawing and submittal processes to meet contract requirements. • Support commissioning by creating pre‑functional checklists, testing procedures, and performing functional testing. • Generate, issue, and execute commissioning plans for assigned projects. • Interact independently with project teams regarding deliverables. • Produce and present work product to clients, representing JE Dunn professionally. • Review subcontractor shop drawings and submittals for compliance before design team submission. • Lead mechanical/electrical coordination throughout project phases. • Participate in all construction phases from startup to closeout. • Develop schedules for mechanical/electrical systems and report site inspection findings. • Create and submit constructability review reports. • Represent mechanical/electrical expertise in job pursuit presentations. • Perform accurate, complete, and timely work. • Read and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications. • Build relationships and collaborate within internal and external teams.

What You Bring
The role requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, architectural engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience, and at least two years of construction or engineering experience. • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing (intermediate level). • Proficient in MS Office and JE Dunn M/E construction tools. • Understand construction management means and methods.
