About the Role
As a Cleaner on the BGIS Sustainable Cleaning Solutions team you will be responsible for maintaining a designated zone with a focus on quality control, health and safety, and exceeding client expectations. • Sweep, scrub, vacuum, and mop hard‑surface floors using handheld, walk‑behind, or automatic equipment. • Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors manually or with power tools as needed. • Clean washroom floors, stairwells, elevator cabs, and glass surfaces using ladders or scaffolding when required. • Transport garbage from drop points to bins or compactors and move maintenance machinery between floors. • Load, unload, and replenish cleaning supplies and solutions. • Clean, store, and maintain equipment and machinery after use. • Mix water and detergents to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications. • Notify managers of major repairs or additions needed for building systems. • Remove snow and debris from sidewalks, driveways, or parking areas using plows, blowers, shovels, or melting chemicals. • Follow procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. • Perform various cleaning and housekeeping tasks in institutional environments. • Operate floor maintenance machines and handle cleaning materials safely. • Lift, push, pull heavy items and climb ladders safely. • Maintain cooperative relationships with staff, clients, and the public. • Work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and multiple locations. • Follow verbal and written instructions and maintain accurate records.

What You Bring
• Apply knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS regulations. • Meet security clearance requirements and hold a valid Class G driver's licence where required.

Benefits
This is a regular, part‑time position offering $17.60‑$20.88 per hour, with occasional lifts of up to 25 pounds. The role may require weekends, holidays, and shifts at multiple locations, and a valid Class G licence may be required. • Steam clean or shampoo carpeted areas.
