About the Role
The Middle Level Tester performs tests on commercial HVAC systems to confirm they meet quality and production standards, correcting any issues found. The role requires completing duties safely and timely, adhering to quality standards and engineering specifications. Key responsibilities include coordinating co‑workers to meet production standards, training new employees, ensuring parts availability, and aligning area activities with other departments. The tester operates recovery and reclaim machines to remove Freon before fixing leaks, runs test units to verify engineering specs, troubleshoots and repairs defects, and verifies units are built correctly to work orders. Additional tasks involve wiring, brazing, and assembly as needed. • Coordinate co‑workers and ensure production standards and schedules are met • Train new employees on testing procedures and safety protocols • Manage parts availability to keep production on schedule • Operate recovery and reclaim machines to remove Freon before leak repairs • Test production units against engineering specifications • Troubleshoot and repair defects in test units to complete run testing • Verify units are built correctly according to work orders and specifications • Perform wiring, brazing, and assembly tasks as required • Charge units with Freon, check for leaks, locate and repair leaks using brazing equipment • Communicate effectively with management and employees to ensure quality and timely delivery • Maintain a safe and productive work environment in a fast‑paced setting

What You Bring
Candidates must have at least vocational or technical training and 0‑5 years of industry experience, with further education considered an advantage for career development. A valid 608 Universal EPA Refrigerant license is required. Essential mental functions involve charging units with Freon, checking for leaks, locating and repairing leaks using brazing equipment, and communicating effectively with management and staff to ensure high‑quality, on‑time delivery. Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment are also needed. Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, stooping, and prolonged sitting. The role demands frequent visits to the manufacturing facility, exposure to seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fumes, while maintaining a safe and productive work environment. • Hold vocational/technical training and 0‑5 years relevant experience • Possess a 608 Universal EPA Refrigerant license • Lift up to 50 lb, climb, stoop, and sit for prolonged periods; work in varied temperature conditions with dust and chemical fumes
