About the Role

As Engineering Manager you will foster a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement while leading the engineering team that delivers lifecycle services—replacement, extensions, upgrades and commissioning—for electrical infrastructure across the power grid. The role ensures compliance with industry regulations, safety standards and operational excellence, and drives efficiency in service delivery. Key responsibilities include mentoring and developing engineers, allocating resources across projects, conducting performance reviews, and overseeing design delivery and installation with a focus on safety, quality and margin improvement. You will develop and improve processes, provide project updates, manage design progress reviews, mitigate contractual risks, and embed lessons learned into future tendering. Additionally, you will champion continuous improvement, deliver training, maintain stakeholder relationships and support recruitment and onboarding of new talent. • Mentor and develop engineers to ensure high performance and engagement. • Allocate resources and monitor workload across multiple projects. • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback. • Lead design delivery and installation with emphasis on safety, quality, and margin improvement. • Develop, implement, and continuously improve engineering processes, policies, and procedures. • Provide project updates and conduct design progress reviews for program managers. • Identify, raise, and mitigate contractual risks proactively. • Integrate lessons learned from engineering support into future tendering processes. • Drive a continuous improvement culture and deliver training to the team and wider business. • Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. • Participate in recruitment and onboarding of new engineering talent. • Apply excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities to motivate teams. • Utilize data‑driven problem‑solving approaches for decision‑making.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate holds an engineering degree or equivalent, preferably in Electrical or Controls, and has substantial experience in complex projects and leading engineering disciplines. Strong people‑leadership, health‑and‑safety awareness, customer‑interface skills and data‑driven problem solving are essential. Experience in the energy sector—oil & gas, power distribution, transmission or generation—is highly regarded. • Hold an engineering degree or equivalent, preferably Electrical or Controls. • Demonstrate extensive experience in complex projects and leading engineering disciplines. • Exhibit strong people‑leadership, health‑and‑safety focus, and risk‑assessment capabilities. • Possess significant customer‑interface experience with strong influencing skills.
