Cleaner -Part Time

About the Role

The Cleaner works part‑time under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor at C&W Services, performing a variety of custodial duties in accordance with the company's standards, instructions, and procedures. The role adheres to established cleaning protocols to maintain building hygiene and appearance. Typical duties include sweeping, mopping, and washing interior floors using light and heavy commercial buffers and shampoo machines. The Cleaner also vacuums rugs in offices and public areas, spot‑cleans or shampoos rugs as directed, and dusts furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and other horizontal surfaces, with periodic high‑dusting. Additional responsibilities involve cleaning interior windows, glass, and trims on doors and partitions, as well as washing interior walls when needed. The Cleaner maintains restrooms by damp‑wiping glass, emptying waste baskets, restocking soap and paper dispensers, cleaning tile walls and floors, and monitoring for issues such as clogged urinals or non‑functional lights. Trash is collected daily, liners are replaced, and snow is swept or shovelled from entrances and walkways as directed. Periodic tasks include high‑dusting, polishing leather and wood surfaces, and wall washing. • Sweep, mop, and wash interior floors using commercial buffers and shampoo machines. • Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot‑clean and shampoo rugs as directed. • Clean interior windows, glass, and door trims. • Maintain and restock restrooms, including waste removal and supply replenishment. • Monitor and report fixture defects such as clogged urinals or non‑functional lights. • Collect building trash daily and replace liners in waste containers. • Remove snow from entrances and walkways as needed. • Perform periodic high‑dusting, wood/leather polishing, and wall washing. • Follow directions, work independently, and collaborate as part of a team. • Operate portable backpack vacuums and other cleaning equipment safely.

What You Bring

No prior cleaning experience is required, but the candidate must be able to follow directions, work with minimal supervision, and cooperate as part of a team. Ability to operate cleaning tools and equipment, including portable backpack vacuums, is essential.
