About the Role

The manager will lead both planned and emergency electrical and robotic engineering work, while coordinating schedules, training, and staffing for the engineering department. They will work closely with Maintenance, Facility, and other engineering groups to design, acquire, and improve production equipment, and will drive lean manufacturing initiatives and capital projects. • Oversee scheduled and unscheduled in‑house electrical and robotic engineering activities. • Coordinate schedules, assignments, and training for new engineering personnel. • Assist in selection, qualification, and development of engineering and maintenance staff. • Support the Co‑Op program with candidate review, interviewing, and scheduling. • Design and implement production‑related equipment in a professional environment. • Collaborate with Maintenance, Facility, and Engineering departments to guide production operations. • Participate in design and acquisition of new machines and equipment. • Provide unbiased performance evaluations for engineering personnel. • Maintain documentation to track trends, cost effectiveness, labor force, and scheduling. • Engage with SBD Organizational Excellence initiatives. • Develop cost estimates and oversee turnkey execution of projects. • Evaluate existing equipment and recommend productivity improvements. • Lead lean manufacturing projects such as 3P planning. • Ensure safety, quality, and production standards meet ISO and company procedures. • Identify and recommend new or existing computer interface requirements. • Complete capital projects to meet timeline and budget goals. • Travel to other facilities for learning, training, and continuous improvement.

What You Bring

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, possess at least five years of leadership experience, and have a strong background in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC, robotics, and mechanical systems. They should be skilled in project management, safety compliance, and have the ability to motivate and communicate effectively with teams. • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. • 5+ years of leadership experience. • Knowledge of NFPA 70E safety standards and lockout/tagout procedures. • Strong background in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC, robotics, and mechanical systems. • Experience leading equipment and system troubleshooting and repair. • Proven project development and management track record. • High‑level organizational and time‑management skills. • Working knowledge of CAD, mechanical drawings, blueprint reading, and advanced arithmetic. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software. • Ability to inspire, motivate, and communicate effectively with teams.
