About the Role

• Design water resource projects for municipalities, including flood control, stormwater, dams, levees, and restoration work. • Prepare stormwater analysis plans, study reports, and perform hydraulics/hydrology modeling. • Produce and revise design drawings using CAD software under engineer guidance. • Develop construction quantity takeoffs and support submittal reviews and design clarifications during construction. • Conduct quality control reviews of completed designs and assist senior engineers with studies, reports, and graphic presentations. • Perform routine engineering tasks and administrative duties related to project management. • Independently manage small projects and assist senior engineers on larger assignments.

What You Bring

• Obtain Engineer in Training (EIT) certification (or be placed in a Design Coordinator role pending EIT). • Experience with MicroStation (highly desired). • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. • Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD (or similar CAD), and hydraulic modeling software. • Self‑motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively to complete tasks. • Demonstrate commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned, inclusive culture.
