About the Role
Planners will provide technical work instructions for mechanical, instrumentation & control, or electrical work orders, and develop or revise repetitive task and preventative maintenance documents in collaboration with engineering and craft personnel. They will participate in training to deepen maintenance planning expertise, embed quality‑control inspections into work plans, and support the corrective‑action process for maintenance‑related events. Attendance at work‑control meetings to report schedule status, projected delays, and parts or services availability is also required. • Prepare technical work instructions for mechanical, I&C, or electrical work orders. • Develop and revise repetitive task and preventative maintenance documents with engineering input. • Participate in training to acquire maintenance planning knowledge. • Incorporate quality control inspections into work plans and procedures. • Support corrective action processes for maintenance‑related events. • Attend work‑control meetings to provide status updates and resource availability. • Collaborate with fleet personnel to achieve the fleet excellence plan. • Obtain and maintain General Security and Nuclear Security Clearances, including GAT training.

What You Bring
Xcel Energy is hiring one or more Planners (IBEW 160) for the Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant. The role focuses on preparing work control documents that support preventative, corrective, and elective maintenance of equipment and structures. Candidates with mechanical maintenance experience are ideal. The position requires at least a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for up to two years of specialized trade, technical school, or college education in engineering or equipment maintenance. Applicants must obtain and maintain General Security and Nuclear Security Clearances, complete nuclear General Access Training, and pass background, drug, and psychological screenings. The anticipated starting base pay is $57.04 per hour. • Require a high school diploma or GED; preferred up to two years of technical post‑secondary education.
