About the Role

The Construction Engineering Technician role is based in San Diego, CA, supporting the Subject Matter Expert and Project Manager on airport‑related projects. The position involves coordinating field inspections, contributing to constructability and value‑engineering reviews, and acting as a liaison between contractors and design teams. Duties may evolve as construction progresses, and off‑hour shifts may be required. • Attend meetings to interface with construction and design teams • Provide quality assurance on contractor installations • Participate in commissioning activities • Generate daily reports • Review submittals and design documents • Inspect installations of low‑voltage communication cabling, voice paging, 800 MHz radio, DAS, passenger processing, building automation, dynamic signage, access control, CCTV, perimeter intrusion detection, network/Wi‑Fi, VoIP, parking guidance and revenue control systems • Oversee field work and act as liaison between contractor and other entities

What You Bring

• High school diploma plus 6 years relevant experience or equivalent education/experience • Pass drug, alcohol, and TSA background screenings for airport badge eligibility • Valid Class C driver’s license and eligibility under the Authority’s Authorized Drivers Program • 5+ years related field experience on large‑scale airport projects • Self‑starter, highly motivated, and able to manage multiple stakeholders • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills • Demonstrated ability to develop cooperative working relationships • Strong technical and analytical problem‑solving skills • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Explorer) and familiarity with PMWEB software
