About the Role

Each day you will diagnose, repair, and maintain trucks and equipment that serve over 20 million customers across the United States. You will work with modern tools and procedures on diesel and, at some locations, CNG fleets, taking pride in keeping vehicles safe and operational for the community. Your responsibilities include inspecting and fixing electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems, estimating repair costs, adhering to Standard Labor Repair Times, and responding to emergency breakdown calls. You will also perform safety checks, complete required documentation, assist senior mechanics, and keep the workspace compliant with OSHA and corporate standards. • Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems • Estimate time and material costs for repairs and parts • Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs) • Respond to emergency breakdown service calls • Conduct safety checks on vehicles • Complete paperwork documenting parts usage and repair times • Assist senior mechanics on project work • Review and address items from Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports • Maintain a clean, safe work area per OSHA and corporate standards

What You Bring

The role demands frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, climbing, as well as constant standing, walking, and grasping, with occasional sitting and balancing. You will be exposed to typical shop hazards such as cuts, burns, chemicals, noise, dust, odors, and varying weather conditions, but reasonable accommodations are available.
