About the Role

All driving duties must comply with WM Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA, DOT, and applicable laws. Drivers conduct pre‑ and post‑trip inspections, complete DVIR reports, and immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, or service interruptions. They attend required training, work with the Operations Manager to improve route efficiency, and ensure each dump site is left clean and debris‑free. End‑of‑day documentation and assisting fellow drivers are also required. • Operate heavy‑duty trucks with lift attachments to transport waste or recyclables to disposal or recycling facilities. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete DVIR documentation. • Follow WM safety, OSHA, DOT, and all local, state, and federal regulations. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, accidents, and service interruptions to the Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Communicate customer requests and ensure dump sites are left clean and free of debris. • Follow assigned routes, complete end‑of‑day paperwork, and assist other drivers as needed. • Perform physical tasks including standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing.

What You Bring

Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear lift attachments, transporting waste or recyclable containers that can exceed 1,000 lb. Commercial drivers pick up containers to disposal, transfer, or recycle facilities, while residential drivers collect household waste and recyclables. Roll‑off drivers load and move large open‑top containers from customer sites, often navigating tight, high‑traffic environments. Skilled backing maneuvers are essential for all driver roles. Applicants need at least one year of experience operating a CDL‑required vehicle or equivalent military driving within the past seven years, be 18 or older, and legally eligible to work in the country. A valid Class A or Class B CDL with an air‑brake endorsement is required; a high school diploma or GED is preferred. The role involves physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
