About the Role
The engineer will apply civil and structural engineering principles to manage projects from inception to completion, working closely with a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include resolving reinforced‑concrete construction issues, maintaining budgets, schedules, and quality standards, and following established design procedures for power delivery assets such as substations and transmission lines. The role also involves acting as engineer of record, reviewing design documents, conducting code reviews, performing value‑engineering analyses, and performing occasional site visits and proposal preparation. • Apply civil and structural engineering principles to deliver full‑cycle project tasks within a multidisciplinary team. • Resolve reinforced‑concrete construction issues to ensure client satisfaction. • Manage project budgets, schedules, and quality standards while adhering to Power Delivery design procedures. • Serve as engineer of record and oversee review of design documents, including shop drawings. • Conduct code reviews and perform value‑engineering analyses for cost‑effective designs. • Perform site visits to inspect construction quality and support proposal preparation.

RRC Companies is looking for a talented Civil/Structural Engineer (EIT/PE) to work remotely from locations across the United States and Canada. The multi‑disciplinary firm, founded in 2007, specializes in energy projects with a focus on renewable energy. Candidates should hold a B.S. or M.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering and have 0‑5+ years of relevant design or project‑management experience. A professional engineering license or the ability to obtain one in the United States is required, along with familiarity with U.S. structural codes (ASCE 7, IBC, AISC, ACI). Strong communication skills, the ability to lead or contribute to project teams, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and experience with engineering software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, AutoCAD Civil 3D) are desired. Travel to project sites in the U.S. or Canada for short periods is expected. • Hold a B.S./M.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering with 0‑5+ years of design or project‑management experience. • Possess knowledge of U.S. structural codes (ASCE 7, IBC, AISC, ACI) and ability to obtain PE licensure. • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication, teamwork, and leadership abilities. • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with software such as STAAD.Pro, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bluebeam, etc. • Willingness to travel short trips to project sites in the U.S. or Canada several times per year.
