About the Role
The Test Technician I is responsible for performing testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on single‑phase and three‑phase medium‑voltage UPS systems. This role requires a strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement across all functions. The technician reads electronic schematics to verify that products meet defined specifications and reports any non‑conformance items according to the company's Quality Management Guidelines. Recommendations for modifications and improvements are made to enhance product quality, reliability, manufacturability, and cost‑effectiveness. Equipment is inspected and maintained to ensure compliance with ISO 9000:2000 standards, and corrective actions are implemented for the repair, replacement, and calibration of laboratory tools and manufacturing equipment. The 5S+ methodology is applied to keep the work area clean and organized. • Test, troubleshoot, and repair single‑phase and three‑phase medium‑voltage UPS systems. • Read and interpret electronic schematics to verify product specifications. • Report non‑conformance items using Quality Management Guidelines. • Recommend design modifications to improve quality, reliability, manufacturability, and cost. • Collaborate with production, quality, manufacturing, and test engineering teams to resolve production and warranty issues. • Inspect and maintain equipment to meet ISO 9000:2000 standards. • Implement corrective actions for repair, replacement, and calibration of lab tools and manufacturing equipment. • Apply 5S+ principles to maintain a clean and organized work area.

What You Bring
Effective communication with Production Associates, Quality Engineering Technicians, Manufacturing Engineers, and Test Engineers is essential for resolving daily production and warranty issues. Collaboration ensures timely problem resolution and product reliability. Candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED, with at least one year of experience in electronics testing and troubleshooting; an associate’s degree in electronics is preferred. Knowledge of switchboard and switchgear operations, as well as electrical and electronic devices, is required. The role demands the ability to follow and give direction, use good judgment, solve problems, and communicate effectively at all organizational levels. Basic computer skills in Windows environments and the ability to read formal and informal drawings and schematics are necessary. Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lb, standing for extended periods, and performing repetitive movements such as bending and squatting. Flexibility to work daily or weekend overtime and to relocate within different plants as needed is expected. Applicants must reside within a 50‑mile radius of Raleigh, NC, although active‑duty military members are exempt from this restriction.
