About the Role
The project involves the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of a desalination plant slated for first production in 2028, encompassing marine works, tunnels, a seawater intake system, a reverse‑osmosis plant, groundwater and drinking‑water storage, and supporting civil, electrical, and bulk earthworks. As the Project Engineer – Electrical, you will support the Area Manager in planning and executing electrical works on the Alkimos Desalination project, providing technical and HSEQS assistance to supervisors and handling administrative, logistics, and procurement tasks as needed. Key responsibilities include managing full project engineering duties such as safety documentation, procurement, budgeting, client liaison, and contract administration; overseeing contract compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards; ensuring all permits and work plans are in place; supporting the Electrical Lead Engineer to meet milestones; preparing technical documents; conducting site inductions; tracking material traceability, costs, and productivity; and contributing to planning, audits, quality management, and team coordination. • Manage project engineering tasks including safety documentation, procurement, budgeting, client liaison, and contract administration. • Oversee contract compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards. • Ensure all permits, approvals, and work plans are secured for daily operations. • Support the Electrical Lead Engineer to achieve project milestones on time, within budget, and to quality standards. • Prepare technical documents such as work procedures, ITPs, SWMS, and site access plans. • Conduct site inductions for personnel and equipment. • Track material traceability, costs, productivity, and maintain accurate records. • Assist in planning, audits, quality management, and coordination with the delivery team. • Apply project engineering principles: budgeting, procurement, QA, and contract administration. • Ensure on‑site compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards. • Produce technical documentation (SWMS, ITPs, construction procedures). • Manage permit processes and align work with approvals and specifications. • Monitor costs, productivity metrics, and maintain thorough records. • Utilise quality management systems, conduct internal audits, and support continuous improvement.
