About the Role

Within a division, the Operations Supervisor – Recycling Center oversees post‑collection activities and a diverse team that includes dispatchers, operations clerks, drivers, sorters, helpers, and equipment operators. The role partners with the Operations Manager and General Manager to execute tactical initiatives that drive functional excellence and meet budget targets, while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, regulatory, accounting, and ethical standards. Key responsibilities include removing unsafe conditions, collaborating with maintenance to keep equipment in safe working order, and leading effective accident‑prevention programs. The Supervisor ensures a safe, productive work environment by actively engaging employees in a culture of safety and by handling unusual service requests, equipment breakdowns, and schedule changes with timely communication to stakeholders. The role also focuses on delivering a superior customer experience, resolving issues, and acting as a positive company representative to build customer satisfaction and loyalty. Productivity goals are set and monitored, labor hours and disposal expenses are managed, and operational plans are executed to exceed the division’s budgeted goals. Creating a collaborative team environment, the Supervisor drives employee engagement, builds talent, understands career aspirations, and provides coaching for advancement. Additional duties may be assigned as needed, and the Supervisor is expected to support maintenance and fleet quality initiatives.
