Groundskeeper

About the Role

The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the lawns, fields, walkways, roads, and parking lots at the client location, ensuring a clean and safe environment for occupants. This role supports C&W Services’ mission to deliver high‑quality grounds maintenance to the client. Daily tasks include mowing with hand or power mowers, trimming and edging around walkways and flower beds, and pruning shrubs and trees to promote healthy growth. The groundskeeper also applies fertilizers, herbicides, and insecticides, rakes leaves, cleans litter, and plants and waters grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs. Additional duties involve repairing fences, gates, walls, and walkways, maintaining drainage ditches, operating tractor‑mounted equipment such as spreaders and rollers, and sharpening tools. All work is performed in accordance with C&W Services health‑and‑safety regulations. • Mow, trim, and edge lawns, walkways, and flower beds using hand or power equipment. • Prune shrubs and trees and remove damaged foliage with shears or chainsaws. • Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and insecticides to lawns, shrubs, and trees. • Rake, bag, and dispose of leaves and litter throughout the grounds. • Plant and water grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs using hoses or sprinkler systems. • Repair fences, gates, walls, and walkways with carpentry and masonry tools. • Maintain drainage ditches and operate tractor‑mounted mowers, spreaders, and rollers. • Sharpen tools such as weed cutters, edging tools, and shears. • Follow all C&W Services health and safety regulations. • Perform additional duties to support client service delivery.

What You Bring

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited apprenticeship or trade school program is a plus. At least three years of groundskeeping experience with a multi‑skill set in landscaping, irrigation, and equipment operation is required. Applicants must be able to lift up to 50 lb, operate golf carts, and work rotational shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent; apprenticeship or trade school completion is a plus. • Possess at least three years of groundskeeping experience with multi‑skill knowledge. • Able to lift up to 50 lb, operate golf carts, and work rotating shifts including nights and weekends.

Benefits

Pay rates may vary based on location, experience, collective bargaining status, and other eligibility factors, and the company guarantees at least the minimum wage.
