About the Role
The Assistant Property Manager for multifamily properties ensures that each community is kept at a market‑ready standard and provides a consistently high level of service. In this role the individual also builds and motivates high‑performing teams to drive overall property performance. Daily responsibilities include supporting the Property Manager with all facets of operations such as maintenance coordination, capital improvement projects, lease administration, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. Additional duties involve collections, evictions, vacancy planning, marketing initiatives, lease renewals, service contract oversight, expense control, and audit preparation. The position requires delivering superior customer service and clear communication to residents and prospective tenants, completing lease and renewal paperwork in line with company guidelines, and monitoring advertising effectiveness and prospect traffic. Team leadership is a key component, involving the recruitment, hiring, coaching, and supervision of on‑site staff while ensuring adherence to Cushman & Wakefield policies, maintaining resident files, resolving conflicts promptly, and overseeing the community’s budget and financial performance. • Ensure smooth, market‑ready operation of multifamily communities. • Assist the Property Manager with maintenance, capital improvements, lease administration, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, collections, evictions, marketing, lease renewals and service contracts. • Deliver superior customer service to residents and prospects to boost satisfaction, renewals and revenue. • Complete lease and renewal paperwork in accordance with company standards. • Track advertising performance and prospect traffic. • Lead, interview, hire, and coach on‑site staff while enforcing C&W policies and procedures. • Maintain resident files and resolve conflicts promptly. • Manage community budgets, expenses and financial reporting. • Collaborate with leasing staff to achieve leasing and marketing targets. • Set and monitor leasing goals for staff, improving performance.

What You Bring
Successful candidates demonstrate strong oral and written communication, proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet tools, solid bookkeeping and sales abilities, and the capacity to set leasing goals, track staff performance, and manage a team effectively. Education requirements include a high school diploma or GED (technical or vocational training acceptable) with a Bachelor’s degree preferred, and the candidate should have at least three years of property‑management experience together with one year of supervisory experience. The role is based in a professional office environment, utilizes standard office equipment, involves regular travel between properties, and requires physical stamina for extended standing, walking, stair climbing, and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds; travel is expected up to 15 % of the time. • Demonstrate effective communication, computer proficiency (MS Office) and bookkeeping skills. • Possess a Bachelor’s degree (preferred) and at least 3 years property management experience, including 1 year in a supervisory role. • Ability to travel up to 15% and meet physical demands such as standing, walking and lifting up to 25 lb.
