About the Role

Assist experienced welders by preparing materials, operating equipment, and maintaining a safe work environment to support the welding process. • Assist Welder I and Welder II with welding tasks as directed • Prepare workpieces by cleaning, grinding, and scraping • Set up welding equipment and tools under supervision • Handle and store welding materials and equipment properly • Operate power tools and hand tools under guidance • Perform tack welding to join components for final welding • Maintain a safe and clean work environment • Follow safety procedures and guidelines at all times • Assist in training and mentoring new helpers as needed • Sit or stand for up to 95 % of work hours • Work in a manufacturing facility with seasonal hot/cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure
