About the Role
The Storeroom and Purchasing Clerk performs manual labor and complex clerical work supporting plant storeroom and warehouse operations. The full‑time, non‑exempt, union role reports to the Procurement Manager, handling receiving, distribution and shipping of materials in an industrial environment with frequent vendor and customer interaction. Compensation is $35.62 per hour plus a 10 % bonus target, and the position is based in Kansas City, MO. • Assist in receiving, storing, and distributing supplies; verify incoming orders against requisitions and invoices. • Count, check, sort, and store materials and products. • Ensure prompt and correct fulfillment of requisitions and expedite back‑order materials. • Conduct and maintain a perpetual inventory of stock on hand. • Accurately record receipts and withdrawals; route invoices and credits to appropriate accounts. • Manage warehousing, moving, and loading of materials and products within the facility. • Use appropriate software to record stockroom transactions. • Order supplies from vendors. • Drive company vehicles to transport materials and supplies as required. • Work scheduled and unscheduled overtime to support facility activities. • Perform due diligence on vendor pricing.

What You Bring
Basic qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of experience in receiving, distributing, and shipping material within an industrial or central plant setting. Preferred qualifications emphasize strong communication, a related degree or certificate, excellent time‑management, problem‑solving ability, and meticulous organization with high attention to detail. Physical requirements involve passing a pre‑employment physical and drug screening, possessing a valid driver’s license, and being able to lift up to 50 lb (and maneuver up to 100 lb), work on elevated platforms, and tolerate temperature extremes, noise, steam, and dusty conditions while wearing required PPE.
