About the Role

• Perform geotechnical and geo‑structural design for soils and rock. • Plan and coordinate subsurface investigations. • Prepare geotechnical data, baseline, and foundation design reports. • Design deep and shallow foundations, slope stability, seepage, and liquefaction analyses. • Support excavation design and conduct 2D/3D finite element analyses for foundations, shafts, and tunnels. • Develop design calculations, engineering reports, and detailed drawings using MicroStation and AutoCAD. • Create instrumentation and monitoring plans and assess construction impact. • Attend project meetings, conduct site visits, and provide engineering services during construction. • Perform QA/QC of design calculations and engineering reports.

What You Bring

The New York City office is hiring a Geotechnical Engineer with extensive experience in underground design and construction. The role involves designing complex underground structures such as foundations, retaining walls, tunnels, shafts, and excavation support systems for transportation projects. • Hold a BS in Civil Engineering and an MS in Geotechnical or Structural Engineering. • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience and NYS PE licensure. • Proficient in 2D/3D FEM software such as Plaxis and familiar with standard geotechnical manuals.
