About the Role
The Dispatcher communicates regularly with WM drivers to resolve problems while they are on route. They handle incoming service orders, direct drivers, and resolve service issues, interacting with customers, WM customer service, sales, and operational staff such as route managers and mechanics. All activity is entered and tracked using WM’s proprietary software. Shifts vary and may include overtime and Saturday hours based on site needs. • Optimize complex routes by collaborating with routing specialists, managers, and service teams. • Dispatch drivers based on customer needs, driver location, loads, and cost‑speed balance. • Field inbound calls and emails, managing same‑day pick‑up and container‑delivery requests. • Initiate outbound calls to customers while drivers are on site to resolve issues. • Troubleshoot and resolve delivery and pick‑up problems before they become service incidents. • Record driver information and distribute documentation to appropriate departments. • Communicate with maintenance personnel and serve as emergency contact for down wires. • Act as the manager’s point person, coordinating projects and delegating tasks in their absence. • Serve as escalation point for other dispatchers and train new dispatch staff. • Provide coverage across commercial, residential, and roll‑off lines and multiple sites as needed.

What You Bring
The position may require air travel or access to federal property, so candidates must possess a REAL ID or an approved TSA alternative, or be willing to obtain one. • Required: High School Diploma or GED and at least 2 years of dispatching experience. • Preferred: Transportation or logistics training and call‑center customer service experience.

The remote position offers a base salary range of $50,000‑$65,000, adjusted for experience, education, and location.
