About the Role

Carrier Building Systems seeks a Building Automation Project Engineer to plan and execute multiple projects, serving as a subject‑matter expert for commissioning and control system consulting. The role ensures reliable, safe, and standards‑compliant automation solutions that support the intended operation of facilities. The engineer independently manages full project lifecycles, leads system commissioning, and provides advanced technical support both on‑site and remotely. They also handle third‑party integrations, develop software and graphics, enforce quality control, mentor field staff, and act as a liaison among engineering, technicians, subcontractors, and leadership. • Manage full project lifecycle for multiple concurrent building automation projects, including schedule, budget, and resources. • Lead definition, oversight, and commissioning of complex BAS to ensure functionality and security. • Serve as subject‑matter expert for troubleshooting, system definition, and advanced control architectures, providing on‑site and remote support. • Coordinate third‑party system integrations and resolve communication issues to maintain network stability. • Develop and implement project‑specific software, HVAC logic, and graphics using WebCTRL and Automated Logic tools. • Review design documents, DDC modules, and control algorithms for compliance with specifications and industry standards. • Train and mentor field team members on documentation, procedures, and smart‑building technologies. • Act as primary liaison between engineering, field technicians, electrical subcontractors, and leadership. • Apply strong knowledge of TCP/IP, Ethernet, ARC Net, and Windows‑based software for system maintenance. • Translate technical information for non‑technical audiences and interpret architectural, mechanical, and electrical blueprints.

Candidates must hold an associate degree or technical certification with at least six years of HVAC controls experience, possess a valid driver’s license, and be able to travel more than 25% of the time, including on‑call rotations. Preferred applicants have a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (HVAC&R focus) and hands‑on experience with Automated Logic tools and third‑party control systems. • Associate degree or technical school; 6+ years HVAC controls experience. • Valid driver’s license, insurable status, and ability to travel >25% of workweek with rotating on‑call schedule. • Preferred: Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering (HVAC&R focus) and field experience with Automated Logic controls. • Experience with Automated Logic tools such as WebCtrl, SiteBuilder, ViewBuilder, LogicBuilder, InterOp, Alert, Draw, EDB, Eikon, Supervision, and Accel Works.
