About the Role
The Transport Senior Executive is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing comprehensive transportation operations, managing complex logistics networks, and driving operational excellence across all transport functions. This position requires extensive industry expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to optimize transportation systems while ensuring regulatory compliance and cost efficiency. The role reports to the Manager Transport, is based on‑site in Gurugram, and involves a 48‑hour weekly schedule. • Develop and implement transportation strategies aligned with business goals and market demand. • Analyze networks to optimize routes, modal choices, and capacity utilization. • Lead expansion, market entry, or consolidation initiatives for transport capabilities. • Oversee day‑to‑day inbound/outbound logistics, distribution, and specialized transport operations. • Manage fleet acquisition, maintenance, replacement planning, and utilization optimization. • Supervise control centers, dispatch operations, and real‑time monitoring systems. • Set performance metrics, conduct regular reviews, and drive professional development and cross‑training. • Build and maintain strategic relationships with carriers, negotiate contracts, and monitor performance via carrier scorecards. • Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and other regulations; manage insurance, claims, and risk mitigation. • Implement and optimize transportation management systems, fleet software, telematics, GPS, ELD, and emerging technologies. • Lead digital transformation initiatives to improve operational visibility, customer communication, and data‑driven decision making. • Maintain service quality through KPIs, resolve escalated customer issues, and support business development efforts.

What You Bring
• Bachelor’s degree with 7–10 years of progressive transportation operations experience. • Advanced knowledge of transportation regulations, environmental compliance, and logistics optimization tools. • Proficiency with TMS, fleet management software, data analysis, reporting tools, and performance dashboards. • Experience across multiple transport modes including truckload, LTL, intermodal, air freight, and specialized transport. • Background in asset‑based and non‑asset transportation models, preferably within manufacturing, retail, automotive, or chemicals. • International transportation and customs compliance expertise; experience with union environments is beneficial. • Skills in advanced analytics, machine‑learning logistics applications, sustainability initiatives, and emerging tech such as autonomous vehicles, blockchain, and IoT. • Proven ability to achieve on‑time delivery >95%, cost‑per‑mile targets, fleet utilization >85%, and safety metrics below industry benchmarks.
