About the Role

The Production Supervisor will oversee the activities of 40‑75 production and operations workers—including assemblers, electricians, inspectors, and precision workers—to ensure production schedules are completed on time, safely, and within budget. In this role the supervisor directs the manufacturing workforce, enforces safety and sanitation standards, anticipates and resolves production obstacles, leads product‑quality initiatives with quality staff and engineers, and handles employee issues to boost morale and efficiency. Additional duties include approving timesheets, monitoring performance and attendance, ensuring timely and budget‑constrained work orders, coordinating with other supervisors, training new staff, analyzing production data, and providing feedback on engineering packages, all while complying with Johnson Controls and Alberta occupational health and safety regulations. • Supervise and coordinate 40–75 production staff (assemblers, electricians, inspectors, precision workers) to meet schedule, safety, and budget goals. • Direct workforce to achieve production targets and enforce safety and sanitation regulations. • Anticipate production obstacles and collaborate with team and stakeholders to resolve them. • Lead product quality initiatives, work with Quality staff and Engineers, and own overall QA performance. • Resolve worker problems, complaints, and production issues; motivate employees to improve morale and efficiency. • Approve hourly timesheets and monitor attendance, performance, and scheduling. • Ensure work orders are completed on time and within budget while adhering to Alberta and Canadian OHS guidelines. • Coordinate operations with other supervisors across departments. • Demonstrate equipment operation and safety procedures; train new employees or assign mentors. • Analyze charts, work orders, and production schedules to assess requirements and adjust outputs. • Review manufacturing engineering packages and provide improvement feedback.

What You Bring

Candidates must have at least three years of production‑supervisor experience, a journeyperson electrician credential, and hands‑on knowledge of operations, warehouse and transportation management, supplies ordering, and inventory control. They should be familiar with local and federal regulations such as AOHS and the Employment Standards Code, possess strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills, and demonstrate a customer‑service mindset and commitment to safe manufacturing practices. The position works a night shift (Monday‑Thursday, 6:15 pm – 5:45 am). Preferred qualifications include a related degree or diploma, training in Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Lean Manufacturing, and First Aid certification. • Minimum 3 years experience as a production supervisor. • Journeyperson electrician certification. • Knowledge of operations, warehouse, transportation, supplies ordering, and inventory control. • Understanding of AOHS and Employment Standards Code regulations. • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, written and verbal communication skills. • Customer‑service orientation and ability to engage internal/external stakeholders. • Night shift availability (Mon‑Thu 6:15 pm‑5:45 am). • Preferred: university degree or diploma in a related field. • Preferred: training in Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Lean Manufacturing. • Preferred: First Aid certification.
