About the Role

Interns will support a range of engineering tasks, including project research, field work, preliminary design calculations, preparation of design plans and cost estimates, and documentation management, while receiving training and adhering to WSP’s Code of Conduct. • Support engineering tasks such as project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations. • Assist in preparing final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates. • Collect and maintain project documentation. • Complete training on assigned tasks and follow ethical decision‑making guidelines.

What You Bring

The Civil Team is hiring a full‑time Civil Engineering Intern for Summer 2026 at the Newark, NJ office. The temporary role is open to students currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate civil engineering (or related) program and will run for 12 weeks starting around May 18 2026, with some flexibility on the exact start date. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States, demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, possess basic technical writing and software proficiency, and have a proven commitment to workplace safety. • Enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering or related undergraduate program. • Effective interpersonal and communication abilities for technical and non‑technical audiences. • Ability to follow direction from mentors and managers. • Basic proficiency in technical writing, office software, spreadsheets, and related tools. • Track record of adhering to workplace safety and WSP’s health, safety, and conduct policies. • Authorization to work in the United States. • Enrolled in an accredited civil engineering (or related) master’s or PhD program with graduation August 2026 or later (preferred). • Prior internship experience and campus leadership involvement (preferred).
