About the Role

Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear‑end load lift attachments, transporting waste or recyclable materials to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities. Commercial drivers handle container pick‑up, often maneuvering loads over 1,000 lb, while residential drivers collect household waste and recyclables. Roll‑off drivers prepare, load, and move large open‑top or compactor containers, navigating tight industrial routes. All drivers must follow WM Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable laws. They conduct pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections, report unsafe conditions, and communicate customer requests to Operations. Drivers complete end‑of‑day paperwork, assist teammates as needed, and work with managers to improve route efficiency. • Operate heavy‑duty trucks with front, side, or rear load‑lift attachments to transport waste or recyclables. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR). • Follow WM Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA, DOT regulations, and all local, state, and federal laws. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, accidents, and service interruptions to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Communicate customer requests and route issues promptly to Operations or Dispatch. • Dump receptacles cleanly, leaving customer locations free of debris. • Follow assigned routes, complete end‑of‑day documentation, and assist other drivers as needed. • Maintain route efficiency by collaborating with Operations Manager to identify best practices. • Perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, and handling loads.

What You Bring

Required qualifications include a Class A or Class B CDL with air‑brake endorsement, at least one year of commercial or equivalent military driving experience within the past seven years, and a minimum age of 18. Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States. A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
