About the Role
The incumbent will ensure the contract portfolio follows established contract and claim management methodologies. Key duties include reviewing commercial and technical tender terms, developing contract strategies aligned with Hitachi policies and customer requirements, and identifying baseline documents to highlight risk. The role also oversees execution of commercial aspects such as payments, claims, variations, warranties, and guarantees, and will verify that both parties meet their obligations before closeout. Change management is a core responsibility; the employee will enforce standard change procedures, quantify additional time and compensation, and defend Hitachi’s contractual interests throughout the project lifecycle. In collaboration with Legal, they will help devise negotiation strategies, support dispute resolution, and assist in drafting purchase orders, contracts and sub‑contracts while ensuring appropriate flow‑down of terms. • Manage contracts end‑to‑end from tendering to execution and closeout. • Review and comment on commercial and technical tender terms and conditions. • Develop contract strategies based on company policies, customer needs, risk, pricing, scope and schedule. • Identify contract baselines and highlight potential risks in specifications, drawings and estimates. • Oversee commercial aspects such as payments, claims, variation orders, warranties and guarantees. • Enforce standard change management procedures and quantify additional time and compensation. • Defend Hitachi’s contractual interests during project lifecycle, including monitoring changes and deviations. • Collaborate with Legal to devise negotiation strategies and support dispute resolution, litigation and arbitration. • Draft and review purchase orders, contracts and sub‑contracts ensuring proper flow‑down of terms. • Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.

What You Bring
The successful candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree and bring 10‑15 years of contract‑management experience, preferably within an EPC environment or major electrical manufacturer. A legal or quantity‑surveyor background is advantageous but not required. Candidates must possess strong knowledge of local and international contracting standards, excellent communication and networking skills, and be a proactive team player with high ownership. • Hold a bachelor’s degree and 10‑15 years of contract‑management experience, preferably in EPC or large electrical manufacturing. • Legal or quantity‑surveyor background considered an asset. • Demonstrate strong knowledge of local and international contracting standards. • Exhibit excellent communication, networking and drafting skills in English.
