About the Role

Joining GFT’s Water Team means contributing to innovative solutions for sustainable water management and infrastructure. The team works on dams and levees, advanced water and wastewater treatment, stormwater management, and conveyance, collection, and transmission, integrating technology, sustainability, and compliance to protect public health and enhance quality of life. The Water/Wastewater Project Manager will be responsible for business development, project management, and leading integrated teams to meet client requirements on scope, schedule, budget, and quality while increasing backlog, revenue, and profitability. Projects may be located throughout the Mid‑Atlantic region, and the candidate must be willing to travel periodically. • Lead and coordinate project teams in planning, design, and construction administration of municipal and industrial water and wastewater infrastructure. • Manage client interactions, presentations, and overall project coordination. • Direct technical staff and consultants, develop study and design standards, lead progress meetings, and track schedules and budgets. • Coordinate activities with municipalities and regulatory agencies; prepare reports and permit applications. • Oversee project development from design through construction contract management. • Supervise and mentor junior engineers; demonstrate strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.

What You Bring

GFT is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Manager to join our Practice or CBG Team in New Jersey. The role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at the office in either Marlton, NJ or East Brunswick, NJ. • Hold a BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering and a Professional Engineer (PE) license. • Possess 10+ years of water/wastewater engineering experience, including design, permitting, and construction administration of treatment facilities, pumping stations, storage, distribution, and collection systems. • Demonstrate project management expertise with budget and schedule control, as well as client relations and business development. • Exhibit leadership, teamwork, strong planning and organizational abilities, and effective client presentation and report preparation skills. • Preferred: Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering and experience with AutoCAD and/or BIM.
