About the Role

The Senior Structural Engineer – Bridges & Transportation Structures will be based in Pittsburgh, PA or Morgantown, WV on a hybrid schedule, serving the Western Pennsylvania Area. This role acts as the Structural Design Lead, overseeing bridge design from concept through construction and coordinating technical issues across disciplines. In this position, the engineer will guide the structural scope, work plans, and schedules while ensuring designs meet contract guidelines and client expectations. The role also includes mentoring junior engineers, supporting proposal development, and driving innovation in bridge engineering. • Lead structural design for new and rehabilitated bridges. • Coordinate technical aspects with multidisciplinary teams and project managers. • Develop project scope, work plans, schedules, and cost estimates. • Perform quality‑control reviews of calculations, drawings, and specifications. • Manage engineering and design staff to deliver contract documents. • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and client approvals. • Mentor and train junior engineers and support career development. • Assist with marketing efforts, proposal preparation, and client interviews. • Implement QA/QC procedures and address client comments on deliverables. • Identify potential budget or schedule impacts and propose alternatives. • Integrate innovative design solutions into project delivery.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with at least six years of transportation structures experience and possess a Professional Engineer (PE) license. Preferred qualifications include ten or more years of design work, a Master’s in Structural Engineering, PE reciprocity, PennDOT experience, and strong CAD proficiency. • Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering and 6+ years transportation structures experience. • Professional Engineer (PE) license; preferred 10+ years design experience. • Master’s in Structural Engineering and PE reciprocity (preferred). • Experience with PennDOT or other State DOT projects. • Proficiency in CAD and related engineering software.

The position offers a salary range of $100,000‑$145,000, comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life and disability coverage, paid time off, flexible work options, retirement and stock purchase plans, as well as robust training and development programs.
