About the Role

The Front Office Manager is responsible for hiring, training, and supervising front-desk staff, maintaining brand standards, and overseeing daily operations such as scheduling, billing, and payroll budgeting. They also handle guest complaints, generate front-office reports, lead staff meetings, and coordinate with other department heads to ensure smooth hotel operations. • Hire, train, and supervise front-desk agents, conducting performance evaluations and coaching. • Maintain hotel brand standards and enforce front-office policies and safety regulations. • Assist with scheduling, billing, and accounts receivable tasks. • Plan, organize, and coordinate daily staff activities and special projects. • Monitor payroll budget to keep labor costs aligned with forecasts. • Resolve guest complaints and address rate or facility issues. • Generate and distribute front-office reports using the hotel computer system. • Lead regular front-office staff meetings to provide training and updates. • Attend hotel-wide staff meetings and collaborate with other department heads. • Assign duties and shifts, adjusting schedules based on house count and business needs. • Respond to guest inquiries about hotel services, registration, and local amenities. • Process advance registration payments and greet VIP guests. • Review group reservations and event schedules to ensure proper staffing. • Submit work orders for maintenance issues and follow up with the maintenance department.

What You Bring

Successful candidates will have prior front-office supervisory or management experience in a branded hotel, at least five years of customer-service work, and familiarity with multiple property-management systems. They must possess strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel, and meet physical and licensing requirements such as a valid driver’s license and the ability to lift 20 lb. • Experience with cross-branding and multiple property-management systems. • Prior front-office supervisory or management experience in a branded hotel. • Minimum five years of customer-service experience. • Ability to read, interpret, and apply safety, operating, and procedural documents. • Proficiency with moderately complex computer systems, Microsoft Word, and Excel. • Strong presentation skills for communicating with managers, clients, and the public. • Excellent organizational, time-management, and interpersonal skills. • Effective written and verbal communication in English; ability to write reports and evaluations. • Basic math skills for calculations such as discounts, commissions, and percentages. • Problem-solving ability in situations with limited standardization. • Legal age requirement and a valid driver’s license with proof of auto insurance. • High school diploma or equivalent; basic computer literacy. • Physical ability to walk, climb stairs, kneel, reach, crawl, twist, and lift up to 20 lb.
