About the Role

The Assistant Chief Engineer serves as an engineering leader for a 1,800,000‑square‑foot Class A campus in downtown Seattle, overseeing a team of 21 and ensuring the safe, efficient, and responsible operation of all building systems. This on‑site role follows a 7 am – 3 pm, Monday‑through‑Friday schedule. • Supervise contractors and monitor performance. • Assist in developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs. • Train and mentor engineering staff to expand team capabilities. • Manage daily work orders in the CMMS and address tenant service requests. • Prepare monthly and quarterly operations and mechanical reports. • Respond promptly to emergencies and communicate effectively with clients and occupants. • Perform routine tasks such as painting, pressure washing, lighting maintenance, plumbing, HVAC, water treatment, picture hanging, furniture repair, and locksmith work. • Conduct facility inspections and due‑diligence reviews. • Follow all safety procedures and proper handling of hazardous materials. • Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational training.

What You Bring

• Possess 3–5 years of experience in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or carpentry. • Hold trade school, union, military, or college education (preferred) and pursue Universal CFC EPA certification within the first year.
