About the Role
The Senior Director, Commodities – Global will join the Global Supply Chain group as a hybrid employee. In this role you will define and execute the worldwide commodity sourcing strategy, focusing on cost optimization, supplier performance, risk mitigation, and sustainability across key categories. You will work cross‑functionally to ensure sourcing solutions support business objectives and deliver measurable value. • Develop and implement global commodity sourcing strategies to meet cost, quality, and risk objectives. • Drive Commodity Excellence initiatives, including bespoke material contracts, derivatives, price locks, and directed buys for direct materials and FX. • Lead negotiations and manage relationships with critical commodity suppliers. • Analyze market trends, supply risks, and emerging technologies to guide sourcing decisions. • Partner with product development, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to align sourcing with business needs. • Champion continuous improvement through digitalization and sustainability in sourcing processes. • Establish, track, and report KPIs for supplier performance, cost savings, and risk mitigation. • Ensure all sourcing activities comply with Stanley Black & Decker and regulatory standards. • Mentor, coach, and develop a high‑performing global sourcing team. • Manage annual sourcing budgets and achieve defined cost‑reduction targets. • Represent Stanley Black & Decker in industry forums and introduce best‑practice innovations into new product development. • Travel internationally up to 20% of the time to support global commodity requirements.
