About the Role

The role involves observing and documenting field activities throughout the construction process. You will sample, test, and inspect various materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel. Calculations, data reduction, and drafting of test results are performed, and field screening equipment is operated to capture readings. Additionally, you will read maps, follow directions, and interpret engineering and construction plans while communicating daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers. Over time, you are expected to become the trusted sole representative of ECS on project sites. • Observe and document construction field activities. • Sample, test, and inspect soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel. • Perform calculations, data reduction, and drafting of test results. • Operate field screening equipment and record readings. • Read maps and interpret engineering/construction plans. • Communicate daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers. • Serve as the sole ECS representative on project sites. • Provide reliable transportation for site travel (mileage reimbursed).

What You Bring

Candidates must be actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related discipline and have a strong interest in how building materials are used in construction. The position requires the ability to carry 40–70 lb repeatedly and occasionally lift up to 85 lb to waist height. Reliable transportation to job sites is necessary, with mileage reimbursed, and relocation assistance is not offered. • Pursue a B.S. or M.S. in civil engineering, construction management, or related field. • Carry 40–70 lb repeatedly; occasionally lift up to 85 lb to waist height.
