About the Role
The Building Engineer/Electrician on the Life Sciences Account team serves as the technical backbone, maintaining and repairing critical electrical systems in highly regulated life sciences facilities while ensuring compliance, safety, and operational excellence. • Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical systems, controls, and equipment throughout the facility • Execute preventative maintenance programs to optimize equipment performance and minimize operational downtime • Respond to emergency situations and equipment failures as the primary on‑call troubleshooter for building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and door issues • Ensure strict compliance with electrical codes, regulations, and safety guidelines specific to life sciences environments • Collaborate with facility management, external vendors, and contractors to coordinate maintenance activities and specialized projects • Maintain detailed documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, equipment inventory, and system modifications • Conduct safety inspections and audits while proactively identifying and addressing potential electrical hazards

What You Bring
• High school diploma or equivalent • Valid electrician's license and relevant field certifications • Proven experience as Building Engineer/Electrician in life sciences facilities or similar highly regulated environments • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, codes, and regulatory requirements • Experience using diagnostic tools, meters, and electrical testing equipment • Additional technical certifications or training in electrical systems and building maintenance • Familiarity with automated building systems and Building Management Systems (BMS) interface • Experience with life sciences facility requirements and specialized equipment • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and record‑keeping • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration • Experience coordinating with external vendors and contractors for facility projects • Strong troubleshooting abilities with proficiency in reading electrical schematics and blueprints • Demonstrated commitment to safety protocols and adherence to industry best practices

Benefits
The position is on‑site in San Diego, CA, with a Monday‑Friday shift from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM and a weekly on‑call rotation. Compensation is estimated between $71,900 and $104,200 annually, and the role does not provide visa sponsorship.
