About the Role

The successful candidate will leverage extensive mechanical design experience to deliver efficient, commercially sound outcomes for health, defence, transport, sports infrastructure, data centres and other complex building projects. They will provide senior‑level technical leadership, conduct design reviews and assurance, and ensure consistent quality and timely delivery across multiple sectors. • Deliver high‑quality, efficient, and commercially sound mechanical design for health, defence, transport, sports infrastructure, data centre and other complex projects across ANZ. • Provide senior‑level technical leadership and design assurance on major client projects, including technical reviews. • Lead multiple technical projects simultaneously while maintaining consistent quality and timely delivery. • Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary engineering teams to review design calculations, specifications, drawings and documentation. • Mentor and support junior engineers in preparing high‑quality mechanical design documentation and deliverables.

What You Bring

The national Building Engineering team is seeking a technically strong Principal Mechanical Engineer based in Melbourne to lead a wide variety of building services projects across key market sectors. This role will work on complex projects throughout ANZ, driving high‑quality mechanical design and delivery. Ideal candidates have at least 12 years of experience in a building services consultancy or senior/project engineering role within the mechanical contracting sector, with RPEV and CPEng registration preferred. A proven track record in high‑quality technical design, strong client relationship management, and deep knowledge of Australian standards and building services systems is essential. • 12+ years of experience in building services consultancy or senior/project engineering in mechanical contracting. • RPEV and CPEng registration preferred. • Proven track record in high‑quality technical design, project delivery and strong client relationship management. • Deep knowledge of building services systems, Australian Standards and relevant codes, with ability to share expertise. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for mentoring early‑career engineers. • Proactive approach to technical innovation, continuous improvement and efficiency within the engineering team.
