About the Role
The Switchboard Inspector verifies wiring, components, program controllers and conducts electrical testing of switchboard products according to applicable procedures and literature, aiming for timely order fulfillment while meeting Eaton’s quality standards. • Inspect Hi‑Pot switchboard products per work instructions and governmental requirements; document findings on checklists. • Perform electrical tests using Hi‑Pot, continuity and component‑specific devices; verify switches, breakers and torque specifications. • Examine mating structures to ensure job completeness and proper field installation. • Confirm that production revisions are applied and update paperwork such as POM and test reports accurately. • Attach required component literature and product documentation to each job. • Document and communicate non‑conformances, verify rework, and relay design errors for correction. • Identify suspect product at all times to prevent unintended use. • Navigate Eaton systems like Enovia, DMM, POM, AS400, and MQ1. • Interpret applicable UL, NEC, regional utility codes and customer‑specific requirements.

What You Bring
Basic qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship, and residence within a 50‑mile radius of Eaton’s Sumter facility. No relocation assistance or immigration sponsorship is offered. Preferred qualifications are experience with switchboard bus assembly or wiring, familiarity with Lean concepts, and an associate’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics. • Apply knowledge of basic electricity, component functionality, and switchboard designs. • Use Microsoft Office applications—including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook—effectively. • Read and understand manufacturing documents, diagrams, wiring schematics, and testing procedures. • Operate in a fast‑paced, high‑accountability environment while multitasking under pressure.
