About the Role
The Laborer performs manual labor tasks associated with many facets of the construction job site. They are responsible for producing high‑quality work safely and productively, and for ensuring that all materials, tools, equipment, and information are available. They look for opportunities to improve methods, are eager to learn from others, and must understand safety hazards and proper tool use. The role may be stationed in plant operations or on a construction jobsite. • Perform general site clean‑up. • Dig footings and trenches with hand tools. • Backfill excavations. • Load and unload materials. • Strip concrete forms. • Operate power tools such as vibrators, compactors, jackhammers, and chipping guns. • Set braces to support excavation sides and remove rubble/debris. • Assist other craft workers as needed. • Use hand and power tools (electric, gas, pneumatic) with proper training and authorization. • Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, ladders, and scaffolds. • Operate in adverse weather conditions and may need to wear a respirator. • Maintain focus amid distractions and varying work tempos.
