About the Role

The Workshop Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining the mechanical and electrical aspects of Sandvik equipment and components. Candidates with a licence or apprenticeship as an automotive, truck & coach, or heavy‑duty equipment mechanic are encouraged to apply. The role supports both current operational needs and future strategic initiatives. • Follow scope of work within time constraints to meet delivery targets. • Inspect equipment for proper performance and determine faults and malfunctions. • Adjust, repair, or replace defective parts/components according to scope of work. • Identify additional repairs, compile parts and labor estimates, and communicate to supervisor. • Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operational performance. • Complete accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, and parts listings. • Participate actively in continuous improvement initiatives. • Stay current with industry, customer, product developments, and technical best practices. • Build sound relationships with workshop team and internal/external customers for smooth operations. • Mentor workshop apprentices and support self‑training and development. • Maintain health, safety, and environmental compliance.

What You Bring

• Technical (Mechanical) diploma required. • Red Seal certification or in the process of achieving it. • Three to five years of related experience with industry‑specific equipment. • Previous experience with Sandvik equipment considered an asset. • Automotive, truck & coach, or heavy‑duty equipment experience considered a strong asset. • Ability to read and comprehend related schematics. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work as part of an integrated, broad team. • Time management and organizational skills. • Computer literacy (MS Office, Outlook). • Willingness to work steady dayshift Monday‑Friday.
