About the Role

The position provides cost management services from inception to completion across various sectors, supporting the assigned area, discipline or specialism with strong technical and functional capabilities. • Conduct feasibility studies and advise on procurement strategies, contract selection, and produce procurement reports. • Apply value management techniques at project inception. • Manage estimating and cost planning, own and present the final cost plan. • Assist in procurement and selection of the main contractor. • Prepare contract documents, warranties, bonds, licenses and support formal execution. • Advise on administration of building contract terms. • Measure work, provide valuations, and adjust variations per contract terms with the contractor. • Deliver cost control and reporting services throughout the contract. • Prepare financial reports for the client as required. • Identify costs linked to design changes, contract awards, construction activities, and client charges. • Participate in evaluating contractor and subcontractor claims for delay and additional costs. • Advise on issuance of practical completion certificates and negotiate final accounts. • Advise on issuing certificates of making good defects and final completion requirements. • Drive improvements in systems and processes, leading transformational change. • Provide guidance and direction to assistant cost consultant and junior team members. • Mentor and train junior staff informally. • Develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and manage them. • Collaborate on net‑zero carbon transition, identifying and managing carbon emissions and reductions.
