About the Role
The Senior Risk Manager role, based in New York City or Washington, D.C., provides specialist input to clients, project managers, and teams for developing risk plans that identify, quantify, and mitigate project, programme, and strategic risks. The position supports the Project Controls Team in meeting client objectives and solving complex challenges. Key responsibilities include establishing a Risk Management Framework, developing methodologies and tools, and conducting quantified risk analyses using Excel, @RISK, and Primavera Risk Analysis. The manager leads technical delivery of complex projects, oversees risk evaluation processes, monitors risks via a Project Risk Register, and creates Monte Carlo‑based contingency models for cost and schedule. Coordination with project managers, controls staff, and stakeholders ensures effective risk mitigation, workshop facilitation, and SOX control compliance. • Establish and maintain a comprehensive Risk Management Framework, methodology, and tools. • Conduct quantified risk analyses using Excel, @RISK, and Primavera Risk Analysis. • Lead technical delivery of complex projects and oversee risk evaluation processes. • Identify, qualify, and quantify risks; implement mitigation measures and monitor effectiveness via a Project Risk Register. • Develop Monte Carlo simulations to determine cost and schedule contingency allowances. • Coordinate with project managers and controls staff to assess cost and schedule impacts of risks and changes. • Facilitate risk workshops, educate participants, and define post‑workshop responsibilities. • Manage SOX controls where applicable while maintaining independent, diplomatic stakeholder relationships. • Produce clear written and oral risk reports for clients and project teams. • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and conduct policies.

What You Bring
Candidates must have a degree in Mathematics, Business, Engineering, Planning, Construction Management, or a related field, or 10 years of relevant experience, and at least 7 years of risk‑management exposure. Required skills include expert use of Excel, @RISK, Primavera Risk Analysis, strong written and verbal communication, self‑starting attitude, and the ability to travel as needed. The role also demands adherence to health‑safety policies, ethical decision‑making, and Turner & Townsend’s Code of Conduct. Preferred experience includes knowledge of FTA OP40c, involvement in major rail infrastructure projects, prior roles such as Risk Manager or Risk Analyst, and PMP or comparable project‑risk certifications.
