About the Role

Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear lift attachments, handling commercial, residential, or roll‑off routes. They transport waste or recyclable containers—often over 1,000 pounds—while navigating congested roads, alleyways, driveways, and tight industrial spaces, requiring skilled backing maneuvers. Key duties include following WM safety rules, OSHA, DOT, and local regulations; conducting pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and documenting them; reporting hazards, incidents, and service interruptions; attending training and briefings; and collaborating with the Operations Manager to improve route efficiency. Drivers also complete end‑of‑day paperwork and assist teammates as needed. • Operate heavy‑duty trucks with lift attachments to transport waste or recyclable containers. • Perform safe backing maneuvers and navigate high‑traffic, congested, and tight routes. • Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete DVIR documentation. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, accidents, and service interruptions promptly. • Attend required training, briefings, and meetings; work with Operations to improve routes. • Dump receptacles, leave sites clean, and complete end‑of‑day documentation.

What You Bring

Required qualifications consist of at least one year of experience driving a CDL‑class A or B vehicle (or recent military driving experience), a valid CDL with air‑brake endorsement, being 18 years or older, and legal eligibility to work in the United States or Canada. A high school diploma or GED is preferred. The role demands physical activity, including standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing, with accommodations available for individuals with disabilities. • Hold a valid Class A or B CDL with air‑brake endorsement and minimum one year of experience. • Be at least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the United States or Canada. • Preferred: High school diploma or GED.
